ATP Detection

ATP Testing is a quick and easy way to find out if your cleaning process is working. Simply follow the directions on the kit, swab the surface, and you’ll have results in 3 minutes. ATP testing detects cellular matter on a surface, allowing you to know whether or not a decontamination process is effective or not within minutes – and allowing you to correct that decontamination process immediately if it isn’t operating up to your standards.

ATP (adenosine triphosphate) in layman’s terms is essentially the “energy currency” or “fuel” of cells. The food handling industry (and other industries) uses ATP detection equipment as a way to verify that they have adequately cleaned food processing equipment and food contact surfaces.

ATP detection is not going to ONLY detect bacteria – it is going to detect other cellular residues that might harbor or serve as a food source for bacteria as well.

Common applications include:

  • Hospital Room cleaning verification
  • Surgical Instrument cleaning verification (pre-sterilization)
  • Dog Kennel cleaning (verify cleaning to reduce disease spread, etc.)
  • Dairy Farms - milk processing equipment check
  • Milk processing plants
  • Food processing plants
  • Restaurants
  • School / University Food Prep & Serving Areas
  • Flood Restoration (check for bacteria & fungi QUICKLY)
  • Aqueous Fluid monitoring (washers, coolant sumps, cooling towers, central systems, etc.)
  • Any place where there is a need to rapidly check for cellular residues that may include bacteria, fungi, or food for them to grow in/on.
